Aluminium is one of the few metals that practically never runs out of raw materials, because it is naturally occurring in nature. In fact, 8% of the earth’s crust is composed of aluminium in the form of different minerals. Its physical, chemical, and mechanical composition is very similar to that of steel, brass, copper, zinc, lead, or titatnium. Like these metals, aluminium can be melter, cast, formed, and machined. Lastly, aluminium, is completely impermeable, even if it is rolled out to a thickness of only a few millimetres. It lets neither light aroma nor taste substances out. The metal itself is non-toxic, so it is ideal for packaging sensitive products such as food or pharmaceuticals.
